For our topic focus this term we have been looking at predators and learning all about their habitats, diets, characteristics, etc. We also sketched a predator of our choice, used tissue paper to create a replica and then we used materials to create a 3D proggy mat version.
year 4 are learning about oxygen and discovered who discovered it. In year 5 we have been looking at how Tudor houses were built and what features they have. We have planned, labelled and designed our own Tudor house.

The children in Year 4 acted out the short story of How Thor Lost His Hammer.
During this next part of our Viking day, we looked at different parts of Viking life. Here the children made butter using a butter churn. Year 4 children have had a great morning so far learning some more about the Vikings. So far, we have looked at Viking Shields, weapons and protection, long boats, raids, treasure, how the Vikings treated Monks and Viking clothing.
In year 1/2 we have been building bridges using different materials to see which is the strongest. We will test our bridges in science next week. What will be the strongest material?
