We designed odd socks to show we are all different. We discussed how important it is to tell someone if you think you are getting bullied. You can talk to parents, teacher or even a friend who can tell an adult.
In year 4, we have been discussing bullying: what it is; how we can stop it and what to do if we are being bullied.
We had a wonderful visit from Chris at Gosforth Nature Reserve in reception. He talked to the children all about the animals they have there, how they hibernate during the winter and showed them pictures and videos of the animals in their natural habitats. Today year 2/3 had a visit from Debbie at animal aid, who chatted to the children about the importance of caring for animals in the community and the role of animals. We got given some lovely bookmarks and stickers to remind us of the message of our session.
Year 5 and 6 enjoyed a vegan chilli cooking class in today. They learned all about the food choices for vegans and how nutritious the food we made was. We are raising money for Children in Need by wearing pyjamas. In class we are making our own Pudsey masks, painting our own pictures and colouring pictures.
We are trying hard in class to remember our Red Words, those that can’t be sounded out. We have had fun taking part in different activities that will help us.

Yesterday, we remembered all of those people who lost their lives in battles. In school we have made a display to show our respect for the fallen soliders
Today we learnt about Guy Fawkes and what he tried to do to King James and the House of Parliament. We sang the rhyme to remember the day and discussed how we celebrate Bonfire Night. In class we celebrated by making our own edible sparklers 🧨 They look delicious.
This week is parliament week and in year 6 we have been learning all about parliament from voting to how the House of Commons is ran.
