DAILY ROUTINE AM (all times are flexible)

What Will My Child Do Each Day?

8.45 – REGISTRATION/WELCOME TIME – Welcome children into the Pre-School to start their day.  We help your child to hang up his/her own coat, and complete self-registration.

9.15 – MEET AND GREET/PLANNING TIME – This is part of the daily routine when all the children meet together with their Key person group. The children and staff welcome each other as well as exchange news. 9.30 – CHILD INITIATED TIME – Child initiated play with the staff supporting the children’s planned play. The children are encouraged to do whatever activities they have planned and at this time are free to work in all areas of the Pre-School, indoors and outdoors, exploring materials, learning new skills and trying out their ideas.  This is all achieved through well-planned play.

10.25 – TIDY UP TIME/SNACK TIME – The children tidy away materials they have been working with.  This is a valuable learning experience for children, it develops their self-help skills and a sense of responsibility for their environment as well as encouraging them to co-operate with and help others.

10.30 – REVIEW TIME – The children review what they have been doing by rejoining their own group of children and key person with whom they planned and telling them about their work time activities.  This helps to develop children’s communication and language and literacy skills.

10.45 – SMALL GROUP TIME – This is part of the daily routine which includes activities that have been planned for the children by staff.  The children will work in groups with carefully selected materials which will help them to develop a learning key experience towards the Early Learning Goals.
