For our topic focus this term we have been looking at predators and learning all about their habitats, diets, characteristics, etc. We also sketched a predator of our choice, used tissue paper to create a replica and then we used materials to create a 3D proggy mat version.
This term our topic is predators. We have been developing our knowledge of food chains, where predators live and why. Here are some pictures of the children looking at a variety of producers, consumers and predators and making their own food chain.
We are beyond proud of all of the children in KS2 who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to create a fantastic Christmas play to showcase to family and friends. The acting, singing and dancing from children was just brilliant. Well done to each and every one of them.

Year 3 had a great afternoon at Cardinal Hume taking part in a variety of sporting activities with other schools in the local area. Here are some photos of us getting stuck in!
Each afternoon, year 3 have enjoyed doing our daily mile challenge. I have noticed a huge improvement in all the children’s efforts, stamina and confidence to complete the whole activity. I hope they enjoy continuing to thrive!!
Y3 visited Primavera today for our school trip to find out the process of making pizzas and understanding the workings of a kitchen. We got to look around the kitchen and see what equipment they use to prepare and cook the foods. What a fantastic morning we had on Tuesday watching and supporting all of the cyclists taking part in the Tour of Britain 2019. We made our own flags to cheer the cyclists on.
On Friday Year 3 made rock buns as part of our topic ‘scrumdiddlyumptious’! We had lots of fun weighing the ingredients, mixing it together and putting them in the oven. Most of all, we enjoyed eating them…so much so we forgot to take photos of them cooked and ready to eat!
Last week we had a visit from former police officer Jed Foster to talk about friendships and relationships. We took part in a variety of tasks around these topics as well as discussions of our understanding of how to manage and cope with friendships inside and outside of school.
