In Science Year 1 have been learning about Plants. They planted some bean seeds in cups and recorded how they grew. Today they worked with Mrs Goodfellow to plant them outside. Making cross curricular links, the children also met one of their computing objectives by taking the photographs on the ipads by themselves!
Yesterday Year 1 spent a fabulous day at the George Stephenson Museum. The day was full of exciting activities. We enjoyed making bagel pizzas this week…developing our cooking skills, trying new things…having fun!
Our children made the most of the lovely sunshine today at lunchtime. They had lots of fun!
Today Year 1 practiced their number bonds to 10 in a class relay. They worked as a team to complete the number bonds to ten as fast they could. Remember Year 1, keep practicing them at home!
Year 1 and 2 Cookery Club enjoyed making fruit kebabs today. We prepared the fruit by washing, peeling and chopping; kiwi, oranges, grapes, strawberries and pineapple. The children were particularly keen to prepare the fresh pineapple. Of course, eating the fruit kebabs was the best part! We’re all looking forward to next week.
Today in science Year 1 went exploring around the school grounds in search for different plants. The children worked in four groups and as a team were given plants to look for.
