Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed the Sports Leadership Training at Cardinal Hume. The children were a credit to the school, showing everyone how committed, hard working, polite and well behaved they all were. We are looking forward to them putting their new skills into action at our Sports Council.
Year 3 had a great afternoon at Cardinal Hume taking part in a variety of sporting activities with other schools in the local area. Here are some photos of us getting stuck in!

Year 5 have started doing their daily mile. Everyday we go out into the yard and run for 12 consecutive minutes.
What a fantastic morning we had on Tuesday watching and supporting all of the cyclists taking part in the Tour of Britain 2019. We made our own flags to cheer the cyclists on.
We are pleased to announce that we have achieved a Bronze Level Award for Gateshead Schools Health and Wellbeing.

Year 1 and 2 had a keep active slot this morning where we did yoga, a high intensity workout and a speed trial. Mr Cross who came to work with us said we were very good at yoga and super fast at our speed trials.
In roller skating club we played a game called Fast and Furious. This involved the children skating around in a circle, building up speed so that they don’t get over took by the person who is ‘it’. If they were caught they had to sit in the middle.
This week we have been learning how to fall safely so we don’t hurt ourselves. We have also enjoyed playing games and practising basic skills.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the first session of roller skating club. We learnt the basic of how to start and stop safely and played some games along the way.
12 children from across Key Stage 2 enjoyed a day out bowling in Sunderland. They had such fun and were such good sports supporting and congratulating each other on their shots at the pins.
