IN Year 1 we have been investigating capacity and volume and which measuring jugs and beakers hold the most or least amount of water. We used words in our investigation such as full, half full, empty, smaller, larger, taller and shorter. We enjoyed our investigation and finding out how to complete the test fairly.

In Year 2 we have started to look at comparing length, we compared items around the classroom using the language smaller than and larger than. We have been practising using a ruler to accurately measure and draw straight lines in cm. We have done a brilliant job! Well done everyone.
As a class, we collected items from around the classroom and grouped them into 3D shapes. The children enjoyed finding 3D shapes and working together to determine each shape and name.
Last week the children worked in groups to create play scripts from the British point of view about The Great Battle of Britain. The children in Year 5 have been learning about the Sacrament of Marriage in RE. They have worked in small groups to prepare a Class Collective Worship about the topic. It was a beautiful and very thoughtful liturgy.
Yesterday Year 5 went to the Great North Museum to consolidate their learning about Space and the Solar System.
